Nicholas Barrone Obituary
Nicholas J. Barone, of Milford, passed away on June 14, 2023. He was born on September 26, 1941 to the late John Barone and Mary Testa Barone in Woodbridge. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn Shanley Barone and proud father of Nicholas Barone (Jamey), Stephen Barone (Nickelle) and Kristine Barone. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Barone (Harriet); his grandson Antonio Threet; and his many nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his brother Jack Barone.
He was a member of the class of 1959 at Notre Dame High School of West Haven. After that, he attended Rensselaer, West Point, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Worcester Polytech, class of 1965. He served in the US Army. He worked at GE of Pittsfield and then for Olin Corporation. Nick had a love for nature, sailing, and gardening. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants. In his retirement years, he enjoyed family, friends and traveling. He was a member of Milford Kiwanis Club, the Milford Columbus Committee and American Legion Post 196. Nick was a beloved friend and member of his community who will be missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cody White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nick's honor can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research at P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741. I first met Nick in 1973 when he, Stan Cohen, John O´Reilly, and I formed a carpool for the daily Merritt parkway commute to Stamford. The four of us hit it off and had a barrel of daily laughs, and even included the wives in many memorable social
outings. Nick was one of a kind....friendly, smart, a sailor, a gardener, a dear friend.....

Dear dear Uncle Nick..my memories are full of fun times, laughter and love. Even as a young girl -you driving the triumph (no gas), being at every family function, and sharing family love. He was beloved Uncle and brilliant man. I loved when he would come visit us at Worcester Polytechnical Institute. He was amazing at growing apples and had such a calm, cool demeanor. I will miss you Uncle Nick
