Robert Laguna Obituary

Robert Lee Laguna
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our dear, Robert Lee Laguna, 66, of New Haven. Robert passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved son of Miguel Laguna of New Haven, and the late Nellie Laguna. He was born in the Bronx, NY on May 5, 1955, and lived in New Haven, CT and Reston, VA for most of his life. Robert was an accomplished trumpet player who traveled the world, following his dream of performing live music with fellow musicians. At the time of his passing, he was in the process of fulfilling his lifelong goal of recording his very own salsa album. Robert also worked as a plumber by trade, and was always the first person to call when you needed help fixing anything. In recent years, he took up painting as a hobby and was showing promise as he fine-tuned his skills. Robert is survived by his daughters, Aracelis Lee Laguna and Chanel Coco Lee Laguna. He also leaves behind his sister, Leslie Laguna; his brother, Steven Laguna; three grandchildren: Remy Lee Bydume, Carrolina Soléi Bydume, and Owen Stephen O'Neill; and one great-grandson, Lee Enrique Guardado. He was predeceased by his brother, Miguel Laguna. Robert's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m., the Rev. Francis Snell officiating. Burial will be private. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
