Robert Newman Obituary

Robert J . Newman, 90, son of Dr. Joseph T. Newman and Ethel Caldwell, R.N., passed away on May 12, 2023 at his home in Cheshire, CT. Bob and his wife, Carol Macdonald, both natives of New Haven, had been married for 62 years. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind 2 daughters, Susan and Ellen, his brother Joseph and wife, 3 grandchildren Amanda, Kelly and Cameron.
After graduating from Yale in 1954, he joined Southern New England Telephone Company and was employed for 41 years when he retired in 1995. He was a volunteer for many civic organizations, including American Cancer Society and Boy Scouts of America,
Bob enjoyed traveling, boating, birding, hiking and spending time with his grandchildren..
There are no calling hours. Services are for immediate family.
