Tomas was a legend in his own time and will never be forgotten. He was a dear friend, caring mentor, exceptional human being, and distinguished colleague. He accomplished a great deal on behalf of our state’s EL students and was instrumental in creating bilingual programs around the state for many years. I loved him dearly. DEP querido amigo.

Thomas was a gentle soul, who put others before himself. I am deeply sadden by his passing. He is the type of individual who remains in ones heart through time just because of who he was. Rest In Peace dear friend and mentor.

Thomas inspired my childhood and my decision to become a Bpt teacher. He was the energy that brought Bilingual Education to Bpt along with my mother Ruth Rams and other pioneers. His smile and joy and love for the students remain in my memories forever. As a 34 year veteran of Bpt Public School I honor his memory.
