Eleanor Sylvester Obituary
Born in Netcong, on June 19, 1929, to the late James and Natalina DiRenzo, Eleanor had resided there her entire life. She worked as the manager of the Mid-day Friendship Center for the County of Morris, as well as, the welfare director for the Borough of Netcong for 25 years. Eleanor was a parishioner of St. Michael's Church in Netcong, where she served faithfully on their Rosary Altar Society and Legion of Mary. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Dover Court and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, whose greatest joy was spending time with her adoring family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, John Sr.; eight children, Francis, John Jr. (Joy Ann), Natalie, Louis (Beth), Richard (Marianne), David (Lisa), Robert (Michele) and Thomas (Melissa); 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anita Paterson and Dolores Colabella; and three brothers, Lawrence, James and Albert DiRenzo. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews. Eleanor was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers.
Eleanor's Life Celebration will include viewing from 3-7 p.m., on Sunday, Aug. 27, at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 28, at St. Michael's Church, in Netcong. All are invited to meet directly at the church for Mass. Eleanor will be laid to rest at Locust Hill Mausoleum, in Dover. Eleanor. I only knew you a short time from The Netcong Senior Group. The short time we

Such a beautiful person...always a smile on her face when she would see us or anyone for that matter. Eleanor was such a devout Catholic and a wonderful mother raising a fine group of children. We are sure she went straight to Heaven by jet I am sure. We love the Sylvester and DiRenzo families and we share in your sorrow.
