Theresa Paulik

WARWICK, N.Y. -- Theresa Paulik, 78, of Pine Island, N.Y., died at home on Monday, March 8, 2010. Born in Mezofalva, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Johan and Anna Mattesz Czimmer. Theresa immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1951 and had been a resident of Sussex County for 20 years before moving to Pine Island five years ago.

Theresa worked as a bakery package operator for the Nabisco Company in Fair Lawn for 25 years, retiring in the early 1990s. Through her employment with Nabisco she was a member of the bakers and confectioners union. After retirement she enjoyed caring for her family and was know as an excellent cook. She was a former member of St. Stephen's Church in Passaic.

She was pre-deceased by her dear companion, Charles Lazier; a brother, Johan Czimmer; a sister, Mary Sudar; and her former husband, Julius Paulik.

Theresa is survived by her sons, John Paulik and his wife, Lenore, of Warwick, Danny Paulik and his wife, Christine, of Hamburg, and Tom Paulik of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Maryann Paulik of Clinton; a sister, Clara Hujber of Germany; five grandchildren; two nieces and nephews; her sister-in-law, Mary Mellan of Highland Lake, N.Y.; and additional nephews, Joe Mellan and his wife, Shirley, of Glen Spey, N.Y., and Edward Mellan of Highland Lake.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon. Interment will follow at Clove Cemetery in Wantage. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
