John Payne Obituary
- - John W. Payne Sr., 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances Payne. A loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he leaves behind his daughter, Eva (Terry) Conley, sons, John (Teri) Payne, and Tom (April) Payne. He was the grandfather of Jacob (Tristian) Conley, Jennifer Conley, Austin Payne, and Isabelle Payne, and great grandfather of Jaxson, Amelia, and Beau.
John was a self-made man and entrepreneur. He joined the US Army at the age of 17, owned two nightclubs in his early 20's, purchased his first manufacturing business in his 30's, and owned multiple commercial businesses in Ohio and Tennessee until he retired. Later in life he pursued his passions of playing golf, enjoying bourbon cocktails, and living on the Alabama gulf coast.
Family and friends may visit Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM at Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, 3183 Linwood Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45208. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lord Christ the King Church, 3223 Linwood Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45226 Tuesday at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Our Lord Christ the King Church. Condolences to rohdefuneral.com.
