Larry Samons Obituary
Larry R. Samons, age 71, of Mason, Ohio and Nokomis, Florida, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 24, 2016 surrounded by his family. Larry graduated from Ypsilanti High School, Ypsilanti, Michigan and Parks College of St Louis University. Larry was retired from General Electric Company Aviation Division and Belcan Corporation as an Aeronautical Engineer. Besides spending time with his family and friends, Larry enjoyed golf, target shooting, history and aviation. Larry was the beloved husband of Marcia (Mickey) Samons, his wife of 50 years. He was the devoted father and best friend to his daughters: Shelley (Kevin) McCullough, Julie (Michael, Braxton and Maddox) Samons Blackburn, and Amy (Jesse) Gamboa. Larry was the loving grandfather to Vincent Gamboa. Larry leaves behind his sister-in-law and husband Joan and Thomas Horning and his sister Sharyn Samons Hauri. Also survived by nephew Chris and Melanie Horning and family and niece Laura and Colin vanAntwerp and family. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Hermalee Samons. A Celebration of Life for Larry Samons will be held on November 12, 2016 at 4pm at the City of Mason Golf Center Pavilion in Mason, Ohio. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

I just heard about Larry's passing. I am so sorry to hear about it. Losing my father years ago showed me we are never to old to be a child. Love you guys and wish we had an opportunity to speak more.
