No matter how short or long of time that a person knew Bill, it was a gift. He was naturally friendly, sincere and interested in you. Someone who was totally present to the person or people that he was with for dinner or other get-togethers. So it is a sad time for his family and friends to again realize that Bill is no longer physically present to Mary, his children and friends. I give thanks for the time that I knew and enjoyed Bill's presence. And pray for Mary and the family at this time of remembrance.

To Mary, Charlie, Nick, and Katie,
I met Bill over twenty years ago when I was contacted by him wanting to tag along on a bear hunt I was going on in Ontario Canada. Needless to day Bill was the highlight of the trip. For us he become known as {Cincinnati Bill} or as I like to call him{ Willie}. I couldn't call him Rusty as that was my real name. We had a blast together and have been friends ever since. We spoke almost daily talking about our families and our businesses, and yes a lot of hunting stories.
Bill is the most genuine person I know. You knew he really cared! We shareded so many laughs that I will truly miss. We often met for lunch and it will be hard to not call him and try to set up a lunch date. When it was hunting season it was non-stop texting from the tree stands along with video's and pics of what we had saw. Until we can share a campfire once again in the Sacred Hunting Grounds, as you always said, "Adios My Friend" you were the Best!!!

On behalf of the Taste of Belgium team, I want to extend our condolences to Bill's family. I did not know Bill well, mostly through the neighborhood and the OTR chamber of commerce but I always enjoyed our conversations. I wish I had a chance to know him more.

Bill was an inspiration to me. A wining smile, a kind word, a huge hug so freely given. I know I will see him again one day in heaven, because he is surely there. We have lost a real friend and you have lost a dad and a husband. The world is sadder because he is not in it. Heaven is better because he is there.

You will be missed my friend. My sympathy to your family. I worked with Bill for 2 years at Cobb printing while he produced New Moovers and we stayed in touch after his business venture at the Candle Lab. I relocated back to Florida last year and my last conversation was back in November with him. We always had a good laugh when we spoke with each other.
God bless

RUSTY, You were a unique individual ... a real man, a great family man , with three of the neatest kids who adored you, and a wife who would just look at you and smile. I love you and I will miss you. Ya know we spent every Christmas eve together since you married. Needless to say, Christmas will never be the same. No doubt so many friends will never be the same without you. Your legacy will surely live on with your children... I so love your family. God love you Rusty... put a good word in for me. I know so many people that were waiting at the pearly gates for you ... seems like you just left to early, but as they say and we believe; " you are in a better place", but here on earth, there will NEVER be another Rusty. I love you, and will miss you.

On behalf of the entire Roger Bacon Spartan family, I want to extend our condolences to Mary and the entire family on the unexpected loss of Rusty. Bill was actually in the same class as my brother Pat Burke, class of 1973. I was called by Father Kenan Freson last night to tell me the sad news. All of the Franciscan Friars from the Province of St. John the Baptist are in a chapter meeting in Indianapolis this week, else I am sure there would be multiple guests for his visitation and mass. Roger Bacon will be represented and you can be assured Rusty and your family will be in our prayers.

I was so sorry to hear about this. My best friend, her daughters and I visited The Candle Lab a couple of months ago. Rusty was so friendly and sweet. He walked out to the sidewalk and was telling us all about how we should see The Shack. He said that he had seen it the day before and how it really touched him. When I finally did see it, I thought of him. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I can't even begin to imagine how you're feeling.

Rusty was one of the sweetest dearest men I know. No matter how much time went by between our seeing each other, he was a shining light with the infectious smile and twinkle in his eye. He was like a very dear brother to me and I will miss knowing that he is in this world, making it a better place to live.
My prayers are with all of his family as they face this senseless tragedy. Rusty will remain in my heart always. May you all be comforted with memories and knowing how loved you were.

I am devestated to hear of the senseless death of such a fine husband, father, son, brother, uncle and a friend to so many. I have many memories of Rusty from many years back. When I moved to Cincinnati to work, Kathy became my best friend and the family. The Rust gang became my surrogate family and today I love them as I have since we first became acquainted. RIP dear Rusty. You will be missed

I remember Rusty from when we worked together at the yellow pages. I remember when he and Mary got married. He was always so happy and made me laugh all the time.
When I heard about this on the news and where it was located, I remembered he lived out that way and thought, oh no, I hope it wasn't the "Bill" I worked with. I saw his picture today and immediately knew it indeed was, and was so saddened.
Mary and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Even though it's been close to 25 years since I saw him last, I have never forgotten his smile, laugh, or sense of humor. He certainly was a ray of sunshine. What a tragic loss, may he rest in peace.
