Charlie had to be one of the greatest guys I've ever known. When I was a grad student at SLU, he helped me build my coin collection and let me pay him back little by little. We continued to correspond for years afterward, and I will forever remember the lunch we had just a few months ago in Hammond. I will always treasure his friendship. I am out of town and did not know of his death until after the funeral. Frances, I will be in touch with you soon.

I had Dr. Steib for math at SLU and he was a good teacher. My prayers are with his family. God be with you at this time.
