Chris A. Stander

Chris A. Stander, age 57, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Southwest Medical Center. Mr. Stander, the son of the late Samuel Stander and the former Antonia Deogracias, was a native of New Orleans, LA. He was a retired Fire Chief for the City of St. Bernard Fire Department. Survivors include his two daughters, Jessica Stander of Lafayette, LA and Misty Melerine of Picayune, MS; six grandchildren; five sisters; and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 23, 2005 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Rev. Paul Bienvenu, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of services. Pallbearers will be Raymond Nehlig, Al Mauroner, Rudy Whener, and Pat Campo.
