Clayton Casbergue Obituary

Clayton Clements Casbergue II, age 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He was a native of New Orleans, and resided in Metairie, Louisiana. He was born to Sylvia Coco Casbergue and the late Clayton C. Casbergue on March 14, 1953. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Renée Michelet Casbergue, his son, Daniel Clayton Casbergue (Sarah Koehler Casbergue) his daughter, Emily Casbergue Forrester (Raymond James Forrester), and their two children, Nathaniel and Cooper who were the light of his life. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Cynthia Casbergue Cook. He will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces and nephews, their children, and one great-great niece born in December in Germany. He graduated from Brother Martin High School and attended Louisiana State University. He worked in Industrial Sales for 47 years, first at Doussan Gas and Supply (TriGas), then at Industrial Welding Supply from which he retired in 2019. He was a lifelong Saints and LSU fan, and frequently enjoyed tailgating and cheering on his teams from the stands at Tiger Stadium and the Superdome. He loved to travel and was fortunate to spend time all across the US and in places as far flung as Costa Rica, many great European cities, Nordic and Baltic countries, and St. Petersburg, Russia. He was looking forward to planning the next great adventure with "The Usual Suspects" - regular dinner and travel buddies. The family would like to thank the medical staff at LCMC East Jefferson Hospital, the Post Acute Medical Hospital in Covington, and the MedCentris Wound Healing Institute for their skillful care over the past two years. We offer special appreciation to Drs. John Carradine, April Ferguson, and Henry Pretus. Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at St. Clement of Rome Church, 4317 Richland Avenue, Metairie, LA 70002. Visitation will be held in the church from 10-12 am, followed by a Catholic memorial mass at noon. Entombment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Diabetes Association or The Foundation at East Jefferson General Hospital. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online at www.lakelawnmetairie.com.
