Deborah Drake Obituary

Deborah Ann Crosby Drake peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 13, 2015 at West Jefferson Medical Center at the age of 64. She was a native and lifelong resident of the Westbank. Deborah was a graduate of Lincoln High School Class of '69, and continued her studies at Grambling State College where she earned a degree in Social Work in 1973. She was co-owner of Security Home Health Agency in Gretna, LA. Beloved wife of Jerome Drake. Loving mother of Kwe?si (Erica) Crosby Drake and Kwahn Jerome Drake. Daughter of Hilda Dixon Crosby and the late Henry "Coach" Richard Crosby, Jr. Sister of Claudette (Aaron) Morris and Cornel Crosby. Niece of Milton, Sr., Stanley, Jacqueline and Leah Crosby, Robert, Curtis, Gloria and Audrey Dixon, Gloria Ward and Lavinia Dixon whom she also loved like mother; also survived by 2 brothers-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law, 1 uncle-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and soon-to-come grandson. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Evening Star Baptist Church, Israel Baptist Church, Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of Lincoln High School Alumni and Associates Organization, The Wilfred N. Crosby Grambling State University Alumni Organization, People of Ages, and Senior Steppers; staff and students of Tulane University Athletic Dept.; employees of Lee County Sheriff Dept. of Auburn, AL are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Israel Baptist Church, 1612 Esther St. Harvey, LA on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Keith Paul Stewman, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery-New Orleans, LA. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA.
