Doris Charles Obituary

Doris Dolores Charles was born on February 21, 1946, to the late Orelia and Perry Charles. She was a native of St. Rose, Louisiana. She was educated in St. Charles Parish school system and graduated from Bethune High School in 1965. Doris was our Mother, Grandmother, Auntie and the matriarch of her family. She was very protective of them and worked hard to ensure she provided for them. Doris worked several jobs in the food service industry and in healthcare as a CNA/PCT for 30 plus years. She loved cooking for her family, where they gathered every Sunday expecting to enjoy her Sunday meal that she always took her time to cook to ensure we loved every bite. It brough her great joy to have her family home for hours enjoying themselves around the kitchen table eating and talking about the good times we have had throughout the years. She will be greatly missed by so many people. Memories of time spent with the Matriarch of our family will forever be cherished. Doris was called home to glory on early Friday, September 30, 2022. She leaves a legacy of love to her children; Dwenda Charles; Wayland (Trishan) Charles; Howard (Sabrina) Charles; Latrice (Carden) Mashia; Yolanda (Clarence) Williams; Tameika (Brent) Fultz; Cindy (Willie) Washington; and Valarie Alexander; her siblings Shieler Charles Carter; Elgretta Agulliard; Raymond 'Roy' Conley; Mother-n-Law, Mary Lee; Sister-in-Laws, Joyce Simon and Earline Lee; Brother-in-Law, Edward Nunnery; and 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.
