Ellen Belchic Obituary

Services for Ellen Wells Belchic will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 275 Southfield Road, Shreveport, LA. A private burial service will follow. Ellen Wells Belchic was born March 23, 1955, in Shreveport and died at her home in New Orleans on September 4, 2017. She attended Shreveport schools and graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 1973. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1979, and a Master's Degree, in Social Work from LSU in 1983. Ms. Belchic worked in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by her mother, Harriet Cameron Belchic, her sister Katherine Mitchell Belchic, her brother George Cameron Belchic and her uncles Albert Mitchell Belchic and Lt. Col. Wheelock H. Cameron. She is survived by her daughter Mary Katherine Hutchison and her granddaughter Riley Reid Ramirez of San Diego, CA.; her father Dr. George Belchic, Jr and her sister Martha Belchic-Loeb, both of Shreveport; her brother-in-law Samuel F. Loeb, Jr., of Palmer, AK; her sister-in-law Angelia Steele Belchic of Decatur, AL; her nieces Ginny Snider Shelton and husband Todd Shelton, Martha Calvin Rolland and fiancé Zachary Demmond, all of New Orleans, LA and niece Sarah Vivian Belchic of Memphis, TN; her niece Cameron Rolland Bryant and husband Sgt First Class James Thomas Bryant; grandnephew William JM Bryant; and grandnieces Georgia Elizabeth Bryant, Addison Grace Bryant and Evangeline Rose Bryant, all of Ft. Rucker, AL.; her cousins Jacqueline Layne Belchic and Joseph David Belchic and aunt Jacqueline Belchic all of Houston, TX, and cousin Lindsey Cameron Briley of Tallahassee, FL. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice. Honoring Ellen as pallbearers are Bruce R. Hutchison, John Ramirez, Michael S. Rolland, Zachary Demmond, Todd Shelton and Bobby Matthews. Honorary pallbearers are Samuel F. Loeb, Jr, Joseph David Belchic and Sgt First Class James Bryant. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 15, 2017, from 5:00 until 7:30 p.m. at 6500 Gilbert Dr., Shreveport, LA.
