Geno Soleto Obituary

Geno Dominic Soleto passed away at home on Friday, April 6, 2018. He was 29 years old. Heaven gained an angel with one of the biggest hearts. Geno never met a stranger a day in his life, and he would give anything to help his family out. He was a true, Italian man who valued the importance of family above all else. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Many of his friends became honorary family members. Some of his best memories included Vinnie DeSalvo. Geno loved being out on the water, spending time with his dachshund, Bubbie, photography, tuxedoes, fixing cars and making the most out of every situation. He loved everything about the City of New Orleans. He was the beloved son of William Louis and Charleslyn Rispoli Soleto. He was the younger brother to Vittoria Soleto Latapie and brother-in-law to Walter Ralph Latapie III. Most recently, he became the proud uncle, or "Zio G," to Walter Ralph Latapie IV, with whom he had developed a special bond in a very short period of time. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles Francis Rispoli Jr., Helen Reed Bongiovani, and William and Eloise Parr Soleto. He is also preceded in death by his Aunt Marie-Anna Rispoli Danna and his Uncle John Joseph Danna Sr. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncle and cousins. Aunts: Sandra Soleto McRoberts (Bill), Margaret "Peggy" Soleto Crenshaw (John) and Dr. Erin Soleto (Robert Gilliam). Uncle: Charles Francis Rispoli III. Cousins: John Joseph Danna Jr. (Ashley Page Danna), Lily Catherine Danna, Charles Francis Rispoli IV (Alicia Plaideau Rispoli), Carlo Anthony and Giovanni Joseph Rispoli, Nicole Rispoli (Phillip Gambino), Gabriel Tuero Blatty, Cadyn Nicole Coates, Scott and Todd Bryars, Ryan Crenshaw and Lauren Crenshaw Winston, and Kelsey and Kylie Gilliam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass at 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1901 Division Street, Metairie, LA. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery. JACOB SCHOEN & SON in charge of the arrangements. Charleslyn, Billy and Family,

It is with a very heavy heart that I read this news and am writing this to you. Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear this. I am praying that with God's help, you can somehow find strength and comfort. Alayna and I will never, ever forget the wonderful memories and friendship we shared with you all and Geno when they were little dancing buddies. Please accept our sincere, heartfelt sympathy. Bill & Chaleslyn, my deepest sympathy and condolences, on the loss of your son Geno. I remember how excited Bill was the day he was born. No words can heal the loss of your child. Only your family and friends, and God can help you get through this pain. Keep his memories strong! He will be watching out for you from above!

I will forever remember Geno as a little boy in The Dancin' School, always with a smile on his face. Even that young, he was a gentle, sweet-spirited soul. My heart breaks for his family.
