CALVIN Rev. Dr. George Washington Carver Calvin, Sr., transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the age of 73; He was preceded in death by his parents; Richard W. Woodlawn Calvin and Hazel O'Neal Calvin and his sisters; Johnetta Hazel Calvin Bushell, Delores Hulda Calvin Lynch and Veronica Calvin Thomas; Those left to cherish his memory include his children; Charlotte Denise Calvin (Hayes Boone) of Fortworth, TX, Bertina Lynette Calvin Jackson (Stephen) of Greenbelt, MD, George W.C. Calvin II (Lee Anne) of Menlo Park, CA; former wife, Mae Calvin-Belton of Baton Rouge, LA; grandsons, Weldon Howard and George Calvin-Merritt III; sisters and brothers, Alice M. Dillard of East Palo Alto, CA, Carolyn Hamilton of NOLA, Richard W. Calvin (Evelyn) of Missouri City, TX, Warren J. Calvin, Sr. of NOLA, Florence C. Jeff of NOLA, Ruth C. Gooch (Robert) of Chicago, IL, Arlene C. Kennedy (Edward) of NOLA and Carl O. Calvin (Charlene) of Dale City, VA; Also survived by his godchild, Wendy Morris Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Bethany United Methodist Church, 4533 Mendez St. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 am; Visitation will begin at 10:00 am; Interment: Providence Memorial Pk.; Rev.
