Gloria Green

Mrs. Gloria Brown Green departed this life at 6:45 AM on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in her home peacefully of Ironton, Louisiana. She was the loving wife of the dear departed Tillman "Shine" Green. Gloria was born on July 2, 1934 in Magnolia, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Revered James Brown and Evelyn Gibson-Brown and the sister of the late Barbara "Mabel" Williams. She attended City Price School and was a graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School. Gloria was united in holy matrimony on December 24, 1952 to Tillman Green. She gave her life to Christ under the direction of Reverend Paisley at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Gloria especially enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, writing and most of all spending time with family and friends. She was employed at Scottville High School, Morrison's Cafeteria and worked with special needs children at Padua House throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her parents the late Reverend James Brown and Evelyn Gibson-Brown, sister, Barbara "Mabel" Williams, father-in-law, the late Joseph Green, mother-in-law, the late Hester Sparks-Green, step-brother-in-law of the late Edward Declouet, sister-in-law the late Selena Jones, Mable Green-Williams, brother-in-law's, Lee, O'Malley, James, Robert Green, and Sydney Green, husband, Tillman Green, son, Donald Green and the beloved family dog "Bandit." Gloria leaves behind 2 daughters, Vanessa Randall (Oscar), NaTika Bartholomew-Everett (Brian), 3 sons Gary Green (Shawntele), Keith Green, Kirk Green (Zinna) of Georgia, Johnny Broussard (who was adorned as a son), Cassandra Green (adorned as a daughter), and sister-in-law Elizabeth Burl and brother-in-law, Milton Green. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 grandson–in laws, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 Godchildren: Drewlynne Guy and Kathleen Frederick and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, extended family, many loyal neighbors and lifelong friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration of Mrs. Gloria Brown-Green at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 133 Bradish Street, Ironton, Louisiana, Officiating Pastor Reverend Haywood Johnson, Jr. and Eulogy will be given by Reverend, Doctor Barry Williams (nephew) of Houston, Texas.
