HAYWOOD Gloria Holmes Haywood was born on February 7, 1933 and was called home on Saturday, September 6, 2008. Daughter of the late George and Gertrude Douglass Haywood. Wife of the late Joseph Holmes. Mother of Sheryl (Stanley) Dennis, Sheila H. Williams, Gloria (Charles) Polk, Daniel (Lamarsha) and Melvin Holmes, Debra Holmes and the late Sandra A. Holmes. Sister of Rev. Douglass (Althea) Haywood, Jeannette Haywood Trask and the late George (Junior) Haywood, Jr. Niece of Corrine Burnes. Also survived by 25 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers and Members of New Israel B.C., City Cathedral and Church of Christ. Employees and Staff of The New Orleans School Board, Rite Aid, Sodexho, Copland's, McAlister's, Regions Bank, Radio Shack, Holiday Inn (FQ), Baton Rouge Police Dept., JcPenny's, Oschner, Positive Start Day Care and Riverside General Hospital are invited to attend the Visitation on Friday, September 12, 2008 at New Israel Baptist Church, 6322 St. Claude Avenue, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am.
