Gregory Norman Prince

1966 - 2024

Gregory Norman Prince closed the final chapter of his earthly life on February 1, 2024, at 6:11 AM. Gregory was born on March 20, 1966. He was born to the union of the late Joseph and Hannah Ruffin Prince. Gregory came from a Christian family and accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at an early age. He was baptized by the late Reverend Earl Green. He was educated in the Orleans Parish Public School system and was a graduate of Oliver Perry Walker High School, class of 1985. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was joined in holy matrimony to Dionne Prince. He was employed for over twenty-seven years at Flowers Bakery. Gregory leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife Dionne Prince, his children Mia (Vilette) Hammond, Gregory Jr.(Tori) Prince, Shana (Craig) Reed, Shante (Terry) Youngblood, Dominique Baines and Shantrice Mcgee, Two sisters Elaine and Letha Ruffin; one brother Alvin Ruffin, one sister in law Nedra (George) Young, one brother in law Leo (Brenda) Coleman, five aunts Celeste, Viola, and Albertha Ruffin, Shirley Prince Tezeno, Carolyn Johnson, one uncle Eddie Johnson, Godfather Alcide Anderson, nine grandchildren Ethan, Ian, and Evie Prince, Dontel and Daja Coleman, Derrick Parker, Trinity and Terry Youngblood Jr., and Trashon Brocks, and a host of relatives and friends. Gregory was preceded in death by his son Germony Prince, daughter Natasha Baines parents Joseph and Hannah Ruffin Prince, father and mother-in-law Leo and Inez Coleman, grandparents Henry and Josephine Ruffin, Charles and Victoria Prince, Aunts Bertha Jackson, Albertha Anderson, and Joyce Lewis, Uncles Henry, Wilbert, and Joseph Ruffin, Douglas Anderson, Sr., Eli Jackson, Sr. and Vernon Lewis II. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at New Jerusalem Baptist Church located at 414 Westwego Avenue, Bridge City, LA 70094. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Pastor Clifton McQuarters officiating, and interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, LA.
