On behalf of the entire Gettridge family, we offer sincere gratitude to all of you for the love shown to us concerning the loss of our father. Thanks to our family & friends for the calls, texts, emails, flowers, cards, posts, food donations, visits, guest book entries & attending the funeral but most of all thanks for your prayers. We know that Roman St. will never be the same, but our parents taught us (a family that prays together, stays together). Continue to pray our strength in the Lord. We love you all!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr.Gettridge just this pass summer over the 4th of July. After talking to him I walked away with a different outlook on life. My trip to New Orleans was to attend the Essense Festival and getting to meet Mr. Gettridge ended up being the highlight of my trip. May he rest in peace he will be surely missed.

Mr. Gettridge was a man I always remembered through my dad, "Big Chief Tootie Montana." They grew up together and were both fine men. Mr. Herbert Gettridge was a great friend of my father, Simon Dave, Jr. Both great plasterers. He was a kind and gentle man and always had a smile on his face. Now they both can do God's work in heaven.
