The time spent with Ms. Jeanette was special. She offered many words of wisdom and tid bits of her life's experiences. She joked often and shared many sayings from her brother jack. One of hers was; A little powder and a lil paint make ya what ya ain't. We laughed often that was the good medicine. I knew her to be prayerful and very charitable with caring and loving ways. Quite inspirational. God bless her. A beautiful legend

Although I only met aunt Jeanette a few times, she was much loved by my family. My father always spoke of how kind and gracious she was to him when she visited them in New Orleans. A few years ago, as an adult, I had the good fortune of seeing her and Uncle Freddy. Although I arrived unannounced and they had been ill, they could not have been more welcoming to their long lost niece. I share your sorrow. May she be in the company of angels.

Joe, I was not able to come to your sister's funeral as I was participating in Fr. Donald Hawkins funeral at approximately the same time. Fr Hawkins was a Jesuit who taught here for some years. Please convey my sympathy to the rest of the family. I taught Fred Pou when he was a student here and I had not heard that he was deseased. I will remember her in my Masses and prayers. I feel so blessed that Aunt Jeanette was able to attend my wedding in October. My memories of her are all wonderful. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of the many who love her, but she will be dearly missed. She's in good company now, and I'm sure Papa is aggravating her already. Love, Maria

To the Pou family,
My condolences to you on the passing of your mother. Having lived around the corner for so many years and my younger siblings going to St. Rita with some of you and seeing how close a family you were meant a lot to the neighborhood. I remember the time when "Gladys Pou" came to our house looking for one of the children. Since there were so many of you she would take a head count to make sure all were accounted for. Such great memories.

I saw Aunt Jeanette just a few days before she passed and It was a wonderful visit just as all of my memories of her are. She spent most of the visit just smiling and playing with Savannah. She was an incredible lady and just reading her obituary is a testament to her toughness and resilience. It goes without saying that Aunt Jeanette will be missed by all that knew her.
Love, Sean, Erika, Briana, Isaac, Grayson, & Savannah

My deepest condolences to all of Jeannette's family. I know you will miss her. She was so devoted to all of you, and so giving. Her family was her life. I hope the love you have for each other will help you in your time of this great loss.
My dear friend Jeannette has been my life companion for seven decades. Through thick and thin, joys and sorrows, she was there, just a phone call away. Lots of fond memories; lots of fun.
In November, we were taken for jaunt around town with one of my daughters. It was a gift. We enjoyed being together so much that day. Now that day is even more meaningful for me and I am grateful for it.
For sure, the world will be a different place without Jeannette Pou's . I think we all know that. I will miss her so much. I know many others will too.
Again, to all the family, my most sincere condolences.

Dear Pou Family,
Just before Thanksgiving my mother Mariana, Jeanette, and I shared a lovely joy-ride. I chauffeured the two dear friends through familiar New Orleans neighborhoods and memories. It was my pleasure to see your mother once again carry herself with elegance, humor, and courage. We shall all miss her. Sincerely, Nancy "Ching" Blamphin Brodsky

To the entire Pou family, this is just so tough to see your beautiful sweet Mother here on this page. I don't want to believe she is really gone. What a special person she was. Living across the street from y'all growing up was full of so many great memories. And I still got comfort knowing your Mother was living there in the same house whenever I would pass by. Only last Thursday I did pass by and thought to myself I wonder how Mrs. Pou was doing and how I should visit her and talk about old times. She was a vibrant, fun to be around woman, who I will always think fondly of. I hope your memories of having her as your loving Mother will help get you through this difficult time. She will be sorely missed by many. Much love and prayers, Nancy Hyde Evans
