I will always remember him and the last time I saw him walking across the the back of the church yard when he was a younger man. I never saw him again as I left for California. I am back many years later to find out he has gone to Heaven to be with the Lord God our Savior.

We are indebted to our dear former pastor and friend, Fr. Tommy, who helped us and our family build on our Catholic faith inherited from our ancestors.
He guided us by his example of holiness, wisdom, truth, prayer and love of scripture.
Too, he appreciated and gave us, the laity, the opportunity and courage to use our talents to help him in his quest to bring God to the people and the people to God. May he, who loved the priesthood and his parishioners, now rest in the astounding peace, love, and overwhelming joy of heaven for all eternity.
We love you,
Bill and Mary Hebert and family

I first met Father Tommy while serving in the Louisiana National Guard where he was our Chaplain. I didn't reacquaint with him until he had retired and residing in the same condominium complex as my wife and I. He was a wonderful man and faithful servant of our Lord. It was not until I read his obituary that I found that he and I had another common thread. We were both alumni of St. Aloysius. Rest In Peace.

Father Tommy was one of finest people I ever met in my life. I have never heard a derogatory word spoken toward this man. I met him while he taught at Sacred Heart in New Orleans, so that covers a lot of time.
He is with his SAVIOR.

I remember the year well, it was 1972 and I was in the 2nd Grade. We heard about a new Pastor coming to St. Andrew's. Little did I or anybody else know at the time that we were getting the best possible Pastor that God could have sent to St. Andrew The Apostle School! He transformed so many things about the school and so many lives during his time at St. Andrew's. I was lucky enough to be an Altar Boy for many years with Fr. Tommy. My father and Fr. Tommy worked closely on so many projects for the school and church. My father, who knew him as well as anybody, always said Fr. Tommy is a people person and had a knack for humility and yet strength in all situations. I know he helped me many of times throughout my life. I will be forever grateful that Fr. Tommy was a part of my life. God has a special place for you to tell all your great jokes Fr. Tommy!!!

My childhood home was catty-cornered from St. Christopher. During his time there, Father Tommy would walk around the neighborhood in the evening and often stop to visit on our front porch. 25 years later when my own family moved to Algiers, it was so nice to discover that he was our pastor at St. Andrew.
He gave such wonderful homilies at the school masses. That will always be a favorite memory.
God bless and comfort his loved ones. Rest In Peace, Father Tommy.

Father Tommy was a nice, gentle, gracious man. I received my First Communion from Fr. Tommy at St. Andrew the Apostle in Algiers. And, I was an altar boy with Fr. Tommy. I used to ride my bike to visit him, Fr. Gil, and his little white poodle dog at the St. Andrew's rectory. I used to play ball with the little poodle in the rectory too. Fr. Tommy always stopped what he was doing, and welcomed my ad-hoc visits at the rectory. I'll miss him. Rest In Peace Father Tommy!

Fr. Tommy was a kind and loving pastor and friend to my family. I remember when my father was in intensive care, and Fr. Tommy had us cracking up with his jokes. That was his way. He buried both of my parents. I saw him last year at two University of Holy Cross functions. He looked wonderful, even past 90 years old. He was forever young. I will miss him so much! Rest in peace, dear Fr. Tommy!!

Good memories of Father in the late 50ties early 60ties at Annunciation High School. Soft spoken gentle man. So glad I had the honor of knowing him in my high school years.

Tommy's stories have always been a great part of my travels through the country in my career. And that's only because we did not have the good fortune of seeing him often. But more importantly, those deacons whom he mentored on his life journey will carry on his on
dear love for Christ and his love for all of us. What a legacy.

Fr. "Tommy" was an inspirational spiritual leader and friend with boundless energy. I remember trying to keep up with him on one of his daily jogging jaunts on a trip we took together. Even though I was 20 years his junior while he was in his 60s I had a hard time keeping up and thankful when he finally stopped just short of me giving up. I loved his outlook on life and the many inspirational stories he shared plus his easy manner which could make anyone feel at ease. So fortunate to have been at St. Andrews while he was there. One of those most unforgettable people infuencing my life. All my prayers go out to Fr. Tommy's family and friends. He is home in the Lords arms praying for us all at the highest level now.

Father Tommy,
Will always remember my days at St. Christopher in Metairie and you playing basketball with all the kids at recess. We were in the third grade and you left quite an impression on us. Most of us were afraid and nervous around Priests but you showed us that you were our friend. Thanks for all the happy memories.

Monsignor Tomasovich was a leading force in the development of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish. His guidance and strenth led me and the entire Parish for many years in the right spiritual direction. His efforts and foresight were instrumental in making the Parish what it is today. He touched the heart of so many people. He will be sorely missed. May God spread His strength and peace over his family and all the Parishoners that he touched with his calm demeanor and solid guidance. He was truly a man of God.

Fr. Tomasovich was a great blessing to the students of St. Andrew The Apostle. His homilies were spoken on our level. I can still remember many of them: "Whatever you put your hand to do, do with all your might, ", "Always be a saying thank you person" , "God only helps those who help themselves" . He was truely a great man. Our world is better because of him.

I first met Father "Tommy" when he was a Chaplain in the Louisiana National Guard. A truly kind and generous man as well as a Priest. The last time I spoke with him was at the re-dedication of St. Francis of Assisi Church several years ago. RIP Father Tommy. You will be missed.

All of my memories of my elementary school education involved Fr. Tommy. I remember when I made my First Reconciliation being scared to death to have to confess everything I had did wrong (at 6 years old) to such a prominent person that I was used to seeing on the alter instead of being one on one with. But his gentle and kind spirit relieved my anxiety and put me at ease. I feel so blessed to have known him. Rest in Peace Fr. Tommy!Love, Mindy Stiltner Glenn (SAS,Class of 1987)
