Kevin Maurice Simon

Kevin Maurice Simon, departed this life on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 6:51 AM at the age of 43 with his loving wife, Juwana and his mother by his side. He was the beloved son of the late Alvin Maurice Simon and Edith Simon, and until recently, a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Kevin was a graduate of Xavier University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Informational System. He was baptized at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Kevin was united in holy matrimony to Juwana Riggins Simon. To this union two children were born, Kristopher Maurice Simon and the late Kamron Hardwick Simon. Kevin was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife and son Kristopher. He loved a good football game. Above all he was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. Because of his generous heart and genuine concern for others, he was loved by everyone who knew him. Kevin worked in the technology field for the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board and Ochsner Hospital. He spent many years working part-time in Loss Prevention for Sears. Recently he accepted a position as a Senior Clinical Apps Systems Specialist at Memorial Health in Savannah, Ga., and he and his family moved to Savannah. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Maurice Simon and his son, Kamron Hardwick Simon. To his family, Kevin was a caring husband, father, and son. Kevin leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Juwana Riggins Simon; his pride and joy, his son, Kristopher Maurice Simon; his mother, Edith Simon; mother-in-law, Deborah Morris; father-in-law, Gregory Riggins(Gloria); brother-in-law, Brent Riggins; sister-in-Law, Brittany Riggins and lifelong friends Carlos Vital, Oliver Vital, Charles Allen and Bryan Williams, an uncle, aunts, cousins and other relatives. Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and members of St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and Boynton United Methodist Church, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, as well as employees of Sears, N O Sewerage and Water Board, and Ochsner Hospital are invited to attend the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6828 Chef Menteur Hwy, in New Orleans, La. at 1:00 PM.
