Larry Smith Obituary

Dr. Larry Homer Smith, a cardiovascular surgeon of Mandeville, LA, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. He was born on July 30, 1942 in Youngstown, OH to Charles Homer and Ida Mae (Reesman) Smith. Larry is survived by his wife Anne Boyer; his son Dylan Smith (Alicia); and two grandchildren Stella and Julian. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Bennett (William "Bo"). Larry is preceded in death by his mother, father and his son Hunter "Scotty" Smith. Larry grew up in Key Biscayne, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida and earned his medical degree from University of Tennessee. He practiced in Santa Barbara and Santa Rosa, California; and more recently in Houma and Thibodaux, Louisiana. Larry was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him; he will stay in our hearts forever. The family will have a private service at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Grace Funeral Home. Fond memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.gracenorthshore.com.
