Lawrence Wells Obituary

Lawrence "Tootie" Wells, a skilled longshoreman, was born in New Orleans, LA on August 28, 1983 to Sharon Wells and Lawrence Phelps. He entered into rest on October 20, 2021 at the age of 38. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Brandy M. Wells, children: Dawn, Da'Juan, and Destin; grandmother Mary Phelps, mother-in-law Sadie Harrell, siblings: Brittany, Breyell (Carl), Roneshia, Tiynishia, and Tiyoca Pollar (Cherokee) Lawrence Shields; siblings-in-law: Gwendolyn (Sal), Marilyn (Johnie), Terri (Levi), Josephine, Mary (Larry), Yolanda (Steve), and Frank; bestfriends, Corey Kendrick and Reynaldo Lyons. Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by his grandmother, Idell Wells, and uncles Albert and Eric Wells. Relatives, friends, and pastors of Beacon Light International Cathedral, Mount Tabor Baptist Church, and Seaonus Stevedoring are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, October 29, 2021, for 11:00 A.M., at New Home Ministry, 13800 Hayne Blvd, New Orleans, LA, 70127. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Henry Bolden, Officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave, New Orleans, LA 70122.
