Dear Sweet Ristroph Family,
We just received the news of your mother's death, Don. You and your family will be in our continued prayers. Your mom was such a wonderful person, a true southern lady like the papaer said. I will always remember her gracious way. God Bless all of you.

Dear Don and Cindy,
I have only had the pleasure of knowing Lois for about a month now. Although brief, she has had a geat impact on me and I will never forget her.
She arrived at my home in Paulina to the suprise of my cleaning lady. Lois explained to her that the house was owned by her Aunt Marie and that she practically grew up there. Lois toured the place and left her name and number. I called her and visited with her shortly after that. Lois gave me an abundance of information about the plantation I have been restoring for several years. I am so very grateful to her and will always remember that lovely lady. She was able to answer so many questions for me and literally filled in all the blanks. I just wished I had taken a picture of her. I was planning on visiting her again and hopefully bringing her to Paulina if it was a "good" day for her. I cherish my time with her and will think of her often.
I am very sorry for your loss but am glad she is not having "bad" days anymore.
Sincerely, Michael Hopping

Don, you and your family are in our prayers and thoughts. My dad, Alvin "Brother" Pollet was Ms Lois' first cousin. She was such a kind and generous person who shared her Pollet family tree with all of us. Cherish the memories of your mother and know that she is now at home with the good Lord.

Don & Cindy:
I was sad to hear of the passing of Mrs. Lois. I was a student of hers in the 1950's at Donaldsonville High School and she was loved by all of her students. The last time I seen and talked to her was at a class reunion in 2003. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Nick Porto.

Don and Cindy, I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Miss Lois. She and Mr. John were very good friends of my parents, Henry and Ethelyn LeBlanc of Plaquemine. She tutored me in high school math and was very effective :). Many happy times come to mind, including her presence at all of my wedding parties. God bless you at this most trying time and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers now and for a long time to come. It is difficult to lose such a wonderful mother, mentor, and friend. Sincerely, Ann LeBlanc Cook, Houston Texas

Don
It's been 30 something years since my days at St John, but know I will always remember your mother. She was a tough teacher and was very hard, but for that I am now Thankful. I can picture her as I sit here, know that she left an impression on not only myself, but I am sure many others. She was a special Lady, as well as a great teacher.
You and your family are in my prayers and may God Bless you All.

My father, Lawrence "Boy" Laiche was Lois's first cousin. I remember very clearly going to her wedding reception at Uncle Jack's home. She was so beautiful and remained beautiful as she aged. The last time I saw her was at Nanny's funeral, Beltha Bleakley. My father, died on this day also--November 14th. My sincere sympathy, Lynne Laiche Acosta
