My wife and I had the good fortune to meet Paul,Jr. and his Mom and Dad afer Katrina. We stayed across the street from them and Paul became a good friend. My wife would, on occasion, talk to his Mom while they were out walking.I told Paul it was unbelievable the way he cared for his parents. He just shrugged as if to say it was no big deal but it was.How many people would care for elderly parents as Paul did.
We often hear about Angels on Earth being called friends. Well, that's Paul,Jr.We know he'll be blessed many times over.
You know we love you Paul!!!

To her beloved family;
Yesterday, I attended the funeral services for a great lady. I heard her referred to as Memaw, Mamaw, and Mimi. To me she was my Aunt Raine. My one and only aunt.
She was 13 years of age when I was born. By the time I was 4 she was my best friend. She took me to all the full length Disney movies. We had soda's at Woolworth's lunch counter and beautiful days at City park.
Every weekend, we visited her and Memere and Papere Guerra at their house in a new area of town called Gentilly.
On the afternoon of Sunday, December 7, 1941, we were all listening to some big band music on the radio, when the news of Pearl harbor interrupted. Aunt Raine and the family were horrified. We realized that my new Uncle Paul would have to go to war.
He was my hero. For many years I wore the genuine U S Marine overseas cap that he gave me. I still have a picture of me with that hat.
After the war, Aunt Raine and Uncle Paul started raising a family. Yesterday, I saw the beautiful results in St Christopher Church.
God took both of them recently. The world lost two kind, loving, and dedicated persons, and heaven has two more angels.

Dear Paul, Kathy, Glenn, Susie and Karen,
Your mother was truly a wonderful blessed woman. Not only was she my only aunt but the best God could ever give me.
Aunt 'Raine always made me feel welcome and loved in her home. Ben, my husband, felt the same warm feelings about her as we all did. I always loved to visit her and our families in Metairie on Thanksgiving. Also, our Christmas memories were special too and the best of all was getting together even it was for a short visit. Remember the fig tree that we all climbed up to get figs?
I love you Aunt‘Raine and I know you are united with Uncle Paul and my wonderful Mom and Dad in heaven today.

Kathy,
It's not that long since your Dad went back Home; I guess your Mom just couldn't stay behind too long. They are both together with our loving God now. I am sorry for your loss though; I know you miss them both.
Blessings,
Shirley

I am so sorry to hear of Loraine's death. But I know Mr. Griener will be in heaven waiting to greet her. He and she were such wonderful parents and wonderful family people. Mr. Griener always had wonderful stories to tell of his wife, children and grandchildren. Milton and I shall remember her in our prayers.
