Mercedes Lombardino Obituary

LOMBARDINO Mercedes Melson Lombardino, age 83, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at Lafayette General Hospital. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 1, 1928. She was a resident of Yscloskey, LA for 34 years until 2005 and a recent resident of Lafayette for the past 2 years. She was the wife of the late Joseph Just Lombardino. Mother of Cynthia Ward and the late Jesse Salvador Lombardino. Grandmother of Michelle Harrelson and Lacinda Cancienne; great-grandmother of nine grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Daughter of the late Charles A. Melson and Antonia Grasser Melson Murray. Sister of Charles Melson, Patricia Wild and the late John G. Murray, Jr. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph No. 2 Cemetery. Express condolences at www.schoencanalstreet.com

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.
I knew you mom and dad, we went to the same church, San Pedro Pescador.. She was a very caring person. She taught my children religion classes.
