My life was truly blessed and enriched with the friendship of Father O'Grady. I thank God for the close friendship of Father, although all too short. We knew him but 10 years. He was truly a great man and our family will miss him greatly. We loved him dearly.

All of us at St. Agnes will miss Father O'Grady very much. We have great memories of Father O'Grady, especially when he presided over our daughter's wedding at St. Agnes. She wanted to wait until he could preside at her wedding and he did a beautiful service for her. Thank you Father Peter and Rest In Peace.

Very sad to hear of the death of Fr Peter. Our prayers and condolences to John and Michael and all the family. We have happy memories of his visits to our house in Mill Lane, Wallasey with his mother Mrs O'Grady and Michael. He was a larger than life character, flamboyant and full of fun. Our children Anne and Joe visited him in New Orleans with their partners and had a very entertaining visit and he made them so welcome. He kept in touch with us every year at Christmas and we realised he mustn't be well when we didn't hear from him in the last couple of years. We heard the news at Sunday Mass at English Martyrs. We will arrange for a mass to be said for him here.

Always looked forward to your homecomings in summer when we were kids and visiting Ireland with you. It was an experience! Sadly in later life the family has grown apart, but the memories are good.
Rest easy Uncle Peter.

On the day of my husband's annulment hearing the priest he had been working with failed to show up. Father O'Grady walked up to him and asked how he could help. He worked with us to make the process as easy as possible. We spent many wonderful evenings with him and loved his jokes. He was a very special man and he will be sorely missed.

I remember being an altar boy at Saint Agnes. There were times when we would be kneeling at the altar while Father O'Grady was blessing the bread and wine. We would be talking and laughing. I remember the "stare" from Father O'Grady. It was like daggers piercing the soul, you would get chills. I remember that after mass, we were all hoping that everyone would stop and distract Father O'Grady while we hurried up and changed so we could run out. Sometimes we were lucky, sometimes we were not! You can only imagine what he would tell us when we didn't make it out. I will always remember Father O'Grady, he was tough but his toughness was love. I hope that the angels in heaven are singing in tune when he ascended into heaven, if not they will hear an earful just as we did for midnight mass on christmas. Gotta love him!

Father O'Grady will be missed greatly. He was a priest when I attended St. Agnes in the early 70's--demanding but a caring man. Most recently, he allowed my company to design and re-light the interior and exterior of St. Agnes Church and School. He was a great man who I will miss and remember.

When I was a young boy, I had decided to become an altar boy at the church. Msgr. Brue had put Father O'Grady in charge of the altar boys that year and after the first meeting, I joined the choir. I will forever remember Father O'Grady for his love of life and the joy in his heart.
May God coddle him in the palm of his hand until we meet over yonder rise. Richard & Julie Miller
