Rita Parr

1929 - 2024

Rita Parr, 94, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024. She was born on December 18, 1929 in New Orleans. She lived in La Place for many years and recently resided at Laketown Village in Kenner, LA and Fidelis Northshore II in Mandeville, LA. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sister, Marion Farmer; her daughters-in-law, Verna Anderson and Julie Anderson; her sister-in-law, Linda Wetzel; 6 grandchildren: Aaron, Jeff, Jennifer, Russell, Laura and Ryan and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Mildred Betz Wetzel, and William E. Wetzel; husband, John Parr; brothers, William M. Wetzel and Edwin G. Wetzel; her sisters, Mildred Schluter and Evelyn Mule; her sons; James Anderson, Sr. and Mark Anderson; a step-daughter Pamela Parr; grandsons, James Anderson Jr. and Zackey Nobile. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Fidelis Northshore II and Interim Hospice. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. 5th Street in La Place, LA at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
