Ruth Andreas Hoff Landry

1927 - 2016

Ruth Andreas Hoff Landry, born September 30, 1927, native and lifelong resident of Algiers, Louisiana, until evacuating and relocating to Dallas, Texas after Hurricane "Katrina", died at the hospital December 4, 2016 at 89 years of age. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley Louis Landry and the daughter of the late Andrew Robert Hoff and Thelma Clasen Hoff. Ruth was the mother of Rebecca Landry Greer (husband, Mickey Greer), John Daniel Landry (wife, Mary Landry), and Paul Landry (wife, Shannon Landry). She also was the proud grandmother to Kris Crabtree (husband, Lance Crabtree), Hannah Greer, Michael Greer, and step-grandmother of Mallory Tannehill and the loving great grandmother to Elise Crabtree, Kelsey Crabtree, and Hayden Crabtree. As a true servant of the Lord, lifelong musician, church organist, and piano teacher, Ruth shared her gifts with many over the years. She was the caretaker of the family, always there with a helping hand for those in need and was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Her funeral service was held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas on December 7th. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 10th, 11:00 A.M. at McDonoghville Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given to the Gideons International for the purchase of Bibles or to Lord of Life Lutheran Church in support of Lutheran Bible Translators mission work.
