Lil Spencer and the Constant Family,

I was very saddened to hear of your Dad's passing. I wish you all of God's peace during this time.

Spencer, you know our families go way back. My dad and his brothers grew up together with your dad and his brother in the good old days of Westwego. But as far back as I can remember, your dad was an icon in Westwego. You couldn't ride down Avenue A without looking over to see who was getting their haircut at Spencer's. I remember back when he was cutting hair in Mr. Phillip Allemand's shop and we go to get haircuts there with my brother Mike always getting Mr. Phillip, while I always got in your dad's chair.

Man, your dad was one funny son-of-a-gun! Boy, he'd have me cracking up in the chair and I'd have to calm down when had the straight razor going. He always had a funny story to tell whether it was growing up in Westwego with my dad, or Vegas, or Nicholson Playground, his Army days, or just everyday stuff in Westwego. I still laugh whenever I think of your dad and think of an instance in his shop (I still tell it, but can't really tell it like he could) answering a question on if he could cut a particular hairstyle! Let's just say it was classic Mr. Spencer!!

Your dad was one of a kind! I'll miss him.

All the best,
Kenneth Trepagnier

Spencer Jr., you may not remember me but , I played Base ball in Westwego back in the day and met you a few times. I have been on active duty in the U.S. Air Force for the past 22 years. Your Dad used to cut my hair when I was growing up. Over the years when I would visit, I would always get a fresh hair cut from your Dad prior to returning to Duty. Your Dad was very proud of you and was an Insiration in my life / career. Thank you very much for sharing him with all of us!!! God Bless!!!
