Sylvia Byers Obituary

BYERS Sylvia Mary Ballas Byers, age 75 years, currently from Roslindale, MA, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Beloved wife of Stanley A. Byers, and loving mother to Stanley Sylvan Byers of Washington, D.C. and Elizabeth Sucher and son-in-law, Adam Sucher and cherished granddaughter Evelyn Sucher, also of Roslindale, as well as many close family and friends. Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, she lived in Muncie, Indiana for 32 years before moving to Roslindale in 2007. She was trained in nursing at Mercy Hospital and worked at Charity Hospital, both in New Orleans. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Spirit of Life Catholic Community at the Congregational Church of Weston/UCC in Weston, MA. Another service followed by burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29th, at Greenwood Funeral Home in New Orleans, with a visitation period proceeding from 9:00-11:00 am. At Sylvia's request, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to any of the following charities: St Jude's Children's Hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, or Massachusetts General Hospital.
