Sylvia Coco Obituary

Sylvia Norman Staples Coco, passed away peacefully in Lake Charles, LA, on Friday, April 8, 2005, at the age of 91. Born on August 23, 1913 in New Orleans, LA. Daughter of Ernest Briant Norman and Elsie Scatterty Norman. She was raised at Aurora Plantation in New Orleans. Graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and later attended Maryville College of the Sacred Heart in St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Leroy Staples, of Alexandria, LA and her loving husband of 18 years, Lysso Coco, of Mansura, LA. She is survived by her sister, Marie Norman Pierson, of New Orleans, LA; her children, Ann Staples Perkins, of Lake Charles, LA, Sylvia Staples DuLaney and husband, Jim, of Santa Fe, NM, and Peter Staples, of Lafayette, LA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family requests memorials to Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 401 21ST Street, Alexandria, LA 71301, or to your favorite charity. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Alexandria, LA, with Rev. Msgr. Frederick J. Lyons and Rev. Dan O'Connor, Officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, LA, under the direction of JOHN KRAMER & SON.
