Barbara Kutcher Obituary

KUTCHER
Barbara (nee Potanik), of Woodland Park, passed into eternal life on August 16th at the age of 81.
Born in Wallington, she lived in Clifton and then in Wayne for 47 years before moving to Woodland Park in 2012.
Before retirement, Barbara worked as a fashion stylist for Beeline Fashions, earning numerous sales awards for her outstanding sales achievements. She was top stylist nationally five times, competing against 22,000 other stylists. Her greatest experience was accepting an award from Art Linkletter on his "House Party Show" with CBS in 1968.
Being a member of Van Houten Lanes Ladies Tuesday morning bowling league for over 25 years was both a fun and fulfilling experience as the league donated to many local charities such as the Cerebral Palsy Center in Clifton.
She was also a member of the Concert Chorale Group of West Caldwell, Valley Seniors, Prime Timers and Columbiettes of St. Philip's Church in Clifton.
She enjoyed handicrafts, gardening, singing and theater. An ardent traveler, she and husband Ray enjoyed over 25 cruises and many land tours with family and friends. She loved her summer home in Brigantine where she and Raymond welcomed family and friends.
Volunteering her time to the "Little Sisters of the Poor" and other endless charitable work gave her great satisfaction.
She treasured her early childhood friendships, "The Saturday Nighters", both old and new, "4 Rays and a Joe" and all that touched her life.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years and love of her life, Raymond. Devoted mother to Karen Westermeier (husband Michael) of Tinton Falls, and Raymond Kutcher, Jr. of Wayne. She cherished her grandchildren, Stephanie Schembre, Matthew Schembre, and Raymond Kutcher III.
She was previously a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Wayne and presently a member of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Clifton.
Viewing will be at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave, Clifton, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, August 19th. Funeral mass will be held at St. Philip the Apostle in Clifton at 10 AM on Thursday, August 20th. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Saddle Brook.
In lieu of flowers, please consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org) or the Little Sisters of the Poor, 140 Shepherd Road, Totowa, NJ 07512. Please visit www.bizub.com for driving directions and online condolences.
