Deborah Quinn Obituary

Deborah Ann Quinn

Deborah Ann Quinn (nee Lawten), passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on the morning of June 7, 2018, after her brave year and a half battle with cancer. She was 62 years old.

Debbie grew up in Fort Lee, NJ, prior to moving to Harrington Park, NJ, where she lived for 39 years. Debbie attended high school at the Academy of the Holy Angels. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1979, and Master of Science degree in Education with Distinction from St. Thomas Aquinas College in 1996. Debbie began her career as a Registered Nurse at Pascack Valley Hospital. She later went on to work as a school nurse and health educator for Closter Public Schools, where she retired in 2014 after 20 years of service.

She loved spending time at the shore and enjoyed many hobbies such as playing the piano and tracing her family lineage. Debbie was also a devout Catholic and parishioner at Our Lady of Victories Church for 39 years.

Debbie is now reunited with her parents, Warren and Ellen Lawten. Her memory will always be cherished by her loving husband of 40 years, Richard F. Quinn, of Harrington Park, NJ; her beloved daughter, Megan and son, Robert; her granddaughter, Madeline and beloved companion dog, Lamby. The legacy of her kind and generous spirit will live on through her family and friends.

Visitation at the Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ, will be on Sunday, June 10, from 3 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Our Lady of Victories Church, Harrington Park, NJ, on Monday, June 11 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Madonna Cemetery and Mausoleum, Fort Lee, NJ.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations to Spectrum for Living, 210 River Vale Road, Suite #3, River Vale, NJ 07675, would be appreciated.

The Quinn family would like to express their utmost gratitude and appreciation to the oncology staff at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center along with the Visiting Nurse Association of Englewood.

Dear Rick, Megan and Robert: So sorry for your loss. It was a delight a few years ago when Debbie, my 2nd cousin, made contact with me and we filled in gaps in our respective family trees. It was a special treat to share with her a photo of her grandma's wedding, at which my dad, then age 6, was ringbearer. May God bless you all.

Debbie was a good friend from our highschool days. We met through mutual friends who attended Madonna school in Fort Lee, NJ. Will always remember her happy and fun loving spirit. She was the first of our group of friends to marry and have children. Her husband Rick is a great guy who easily fit is with all of us. Memory eternal good friend.

Dear Rick and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember the little girl that played in my house, with my daughters, as they were growing up. She was a delight and a joy to be around. May all your memories bring you comfort. Sincerely, Margaret Schweiger

Dear Rick, Robert and Megan, George and I are so very sorry for your loss. Debbie was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. She always had a quick laugh and a positive approach to her illness and life in general. I know how difficult this is and hope that all your memories bring you comfort. In sympathy and friendship, Cathy and George Kellinger
