Edward Martine Obituary

MARTINE
Edward S., 72, passed away on April 12, 2014, after bravely fighting brain cancer for the past year. Born May 4, 1941 in New York City, he was the son of Edward and Mary Martine. Dearly beloved husband of Dr. Jeanne Martine, loving and devoted father of Edward and Nicole. Adoring grandfather of Claire, Marissa, Matthew and Sam. Cherished by his brother, Tom and sister-in-law Barbara. Also survived by his well-loved son-in-law Andy and daughter-in-law Susan. An accomplished businessman, he was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and was employed by Del-Monte Food Corporation for over 50 years. He was past president of the Pascack Historical Society and an active member of the Pascack Reformed Church. He will be remembered by family and friends for his kindness, compassion, generosity and deeply ethical commitment to human fairness. He was loved. Funeral Service Wednesday at 10 AM at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home, Inc., 155 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge, NJ. rsfhi.com. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Edward S. Martine may be made to John Theuer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Dear Martine Family,

We just returned to town and learned of Ed's passing. I knew him from our respective businesses, and then as a neighbor and shared our history interests. Always thought of as a gentleman, and well respected. Our condolences to your family.
