Hildegard Kaufmann Obituary

KAUFMANN
Hildegard (nee Warth), 79 of Washington Twp., NJ passed away Feb. 3, 2017/
Hilde was born in Guttenberg, NJ to Hermann A.Warth and Else H. Warth nee Schlosser. Hilde was preceded in death by her brother to Hermann O Warth.
She lived in Guttenberg till the age of 10 and then was a resident of Washington Twp, NJ for 67 years. Hilde is survived by her four children Walter, Harold, Paul, and Lore; and three grandchildren: Richard Liam, Else, and Shauna Conway
Hilde's talents were many, she was an accomplished skier (member of the Ramapo and the German Ski Club), fluent in German, volunteering at the German Language School of Westwood cofounded by her parents. She was a sailor who crewed at The Nyack Yacht club, an outdoor enthusiast (spending summers hiking, and camping), and a certified lifeguard. She shared her passions with her children and grandchildren teaching them to swim, ski, how to appreciate the outdoors and their German Heritage.
Hilde will be remembered most for her kind and forgiving soul. She embodied the conviction of her religious beliefs in her daily actions, always helping those in need, appreciating the beauty of the world around her and sharing her knowledge with all who were open to learn. She gave everything and expected nothing in return.
Memorial service will be held on 2/22 at 11am at the Zion Lutheran Church in Westwood, NJ.

I am so sorry to hear of Hilda's passing. My deepest condolences go out to her family, Walter, Harold, Paul, Lore and her grandchildren. Hilda and I went back to childhood and shared many memories -- from the Bergwald, parties, get togethers, etc. She embraced nature, loved flowers, and any outdoor activity. She was always there for anyone that needed her, or her help, with "no strings attached". She will be dearly missed by all.
