MINKS
Matthew A., of Alpine passed away on January 13, 2014. Beloved father of Jayden, Jack and Gianna. Husband of Erin. Loving son of Georgiana (nee D'Andrea) and the late Herbert (2003). Devoted brother of Christopher and his wife Lisa and Gina Minks Toddings and her husband Jamie. Dear Uncle of Georgia, Christopher, Jake, Skylar and Alexa. Matthew was the President of Centron Lighting LLC in South Hackensack. He was a brilliant salesman with an unsurpassed sense of humor. Matt was everyone's friend. He is loved and will be missed by all. Visitation at the Barrett Funeral Home 148 Dean Drive Tenafly on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service Friday 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Entombment Madonna Cemetery Ft. Lee. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a Scholarship Fund for Matthew's Children. For directions visit www.barrettfuneralhome.net.

I cannot tell you how very sorry I was to hear the tragic news. I was fortunate enough to have Matthew in my class.I was his third grade teacher. I knew he would do well in life because he was quite a good student. I am truly saddened that his life was cut so short.

I knew Matt years ago when he was first learning the lighting business from his dad Herb. I knew Herb through business and he was a good friend. I was older then Matt but he was a great guy. What I remember most was how much Herb loved his children and always wanted the best for Matt. I know Herb is taking good care of Matt right now I am sure. My prayers to the Minks family

Matt and I were in contact right after the storm via Facebook. He was planning on a fundraiser for the town of Lavallette. He was going to produce shirts. I never met him in person but in our conversations he was always so personable. He mentioned his children and was so proud of them. He also told me about his mom and dad and how important they were to him. I know his Dad is taking care of him now.

My thoughts are with his family. What a terrible loss!
