Odette Woetzel

WOETZEL
Odette H. (nee de Mauriac), of Waldwick, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born in New York City, Odette grew up in Waldwick and was a resident there for over 60 years.
Odette graduated St. Luke's High School in 1950 and was a parishioner of St. Luke's RC Church, Ho-Ho-Kus. She was a member of the Waldwick Booster Club, Waldwick Lioness Club and one of the founding members of the Waldwick Historical Society.
In addition to be being a wonderful wife and mother, Odette was the owner and operator of de Mauriac - Woetzel Real Estate Agency of Waldwick for over 25 years.
Surviving are her devoted children, Kurt and his wife Tina, Ken and his wife Lee Ann, Keith and his wife Colleen and Susan and her husband Neil Goldschrafe. She also leaves her eight adoring grandchildren; Kellie, Anne, Chelsea, Alexa, Kasey, Tori, John and Keith and six great grandchildren. Odette was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Kurt in 2015.
Odette loved her town of Waldwick, she enjoyed skiing, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family at their vacation home in the Adirondacks. She also was an avid animal lover and opened her home to many of God's creatures.
The family will receive family and friends on Monday from 3-6 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Luke's RC Church, 340 Franklin Tpk. Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
