Olga Homestead Obituary

HOMESTEAD - Olga M., 87, of South Burlington, VT died peacefully Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at her residence following a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. She was born in Clifton, NJ on February 10, 1916, the daughter of the late Peter and Suzannah Wargo. Olga was married in New Jersey on June 20, 1947 to Edward Homestead who predeceased her in August of 1980. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Glen Rock, NJ and had been a volunteer at Valley Hospital Auxiliary in Ridgewood, NJ. After her husband's death, Olga moved to Vermont to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Olga is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret H. and Bill Kilpatrick of Fairfax, VT; two grandchildren, Bryan Edward Preston of Allston, MA and Melissa White Preston of New York, NY; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends-especially Maureen Lavalette of Stowe, VT, Irene Metzner of Poultney, VT and Bill Cain of Burlington, VT. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either Vermont Respite House, 99 Allenbrook Lane, Williston, VT 05495 or Project Home/Home Share Vermont, 187 St. Paul St., Burlington, VT 05401.
