Peter Garafano Obituary

GARAFANO
Peter, Jr., age 84, of Palm City, FL, at rest in Palm City on February 27, 2015.  Beloved husband of the former Eleanor Prunier of Palm City, FL. Loving father of Patricia Baiano and her husband Mike of Toms River, Teresa Van Hefter of Fairfield, Peter J. Garafano of Toms River and Daniel G. Garafano and his wife Barbara of Lake Hiawatha. Dear grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of two.  Brother of Gloria Dykstra of Wayne and Frances Brucato of Totowa.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson for most of his life, then in Totowa before moving to Palm City, FL. fourteen years ago. He was President of Garafano Tank Service, Paterson, for many years before retiring in 2002.  Mr. Garafano was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He was a former parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa as well as a member of N.J. Motor Truck, New Brunswick. He was also an avid fisherman and boater and an avid golfer.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Saturday at 9 AM.  Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM.  Relatives and friends may visit Saturday 8-9 AM.  Donations in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project,
