JOHNSON
Roy H., 83, of Glen Rock, NJ, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Bronx, NY, he resided in Glen Rock since 1969.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College in New York. A proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he served with the 5th Regimental Combat Team of NJ. Mr. Johnson was a faithful member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd of Glen Rock. An accomplished semi-professional guitar player, Roy enjoyed music.
Prior to retiring, he was a computer programmer with RCA in New York City for many years.
Beloved husband of Anita (Carlson) Johnson. Loving and devoted father of Lori Ann Stanczak and husband Michael, Carl Johnson and Roy H. Johnson, II and wife Carol. Cherished grandfather of Ken, Kristina, Kylor and Kourtney Johnson, Joseph Stanczak and wife Katie and Alexandra Stanczak. Dear brother of Nancy Carlson and husband Artie.
The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, July 29, 2-4 and 7-9 PM with an 8 PM service at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Roy may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O BOX 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.

Anita, I just heard about Roy and am so sorry for you and your family. He was such a nice man and will be missed by many. My prayers are with you.
