Thomas Blessington Obituary

BLESSINGTON Thomas, 82, of Cliffside Park, NJ died peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. He was born in County Leitrim, Ireland. Predeceased by his wife Kay Gallivan, of County Kerry, Ireland. Thomas was retired from Local 94 Operating Engineers. He was an Honorary Member of the Bergen Irish Assoc., Dumont, NJ, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council 2355, Cliffside Park, NJ., and a Member of the Leitrim Society of New York. Thomas was a parishioner of St. Matthews Church, in Ridgefield, NJ. Loving father of Marie Blessington. Dear brother of Ethna McTiernan, and her husband Joseph, Terry (Wales England), Michael (London), Cathal (London), and Seamus (County Leitrim, Ireland). Cherished brother of the late Marie Spellman, Betty Mulvanerty, and Josephine Brennan. Caring uncle of Kevin McTiernan and his wife Hollie, and Gary McTiernan and his wife Kitty. Thomas survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from McCorry Brothers, 780 Anderson Ave.,Cliffside Park on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Matthews Church, Ridgefield, NJ. Interment to follow at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee, NJ. Visiting hours on Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations in memory of Thomas Blessington can be made to St. Patrick Fathers, 70 Edgewater Rd, PO Box 3080, Cliffside Park, NJ 07010.
