In Life, as in school, we experience a series of course corrections to get us back on an intended path. These corrections are invariably performed by someone, least expected, who enters your life to point you in the right direction. For me, Tom Torricelli was just such a person. I first met Tom in 1973 in a weekend visit to his Woodcliff Lake home to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage. Out of all the conversation of that occasion, the words I remember most from Tom are: "If you love one another, you'll stop smoking." Quitting smoking became a major turning point in my life.
"Grazie, Signore Dio, per l'invio di Gaetano Torricelli nella mia vita, anche se solo per quel breve istante, che ha cambiato la mia vita per sempre. E grazie per aver scelto Gaetano di essere là, quando non potevo, come un modello per mio figlio Tombo, che io amo con tutto il cuore."
