Albert John Fargo, Sr. 1934 - 2015 North Franklin - Albert John Fargo, Sr., 80, of North Franklin, and formerly of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning (August 6, 2015) at Wm. W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, with his beloved family by his side. Born November 3, 1934 in Bozrah, CT, he was the son of the late Alvin and Mable (Perkins) Fargo. He married Shirley (Saunders) in May of 1960. The couple moved to No. Franklin where they made their home and raised their family. Albert was a proud veteran, having served in the US Army during the Korean War with the 35th Armor Unit as a tank driver. Upon returning from military service, he worked for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft for 20 years. He later worked as a professional tour bus driver with a coach bus company in Waterford. He loved to travel and his work brought him to many towns and cities. He often drove for the National Theatre of the Deaf as they traveled to perform throughout the country. Albert enjoyed watching NASCAR and UConn Women's Basketball. Most importantly, he will be remembered by his family as a devoted and loving husband and father. He will be sadly missed but always remembered by his beloved wife of 55 years; children, Lynn Tanguay-White of New London, Randal Tanguay of Connecticut, Joyce and husband Dennis Atwood of Niantic, Cindy and husband Jeffrey Beebe of Niantic, Carol and husband Rick Loranger of East Hampton, Albert John Fargo, Jr. of Willimantic and Patricia Fargo; a sister, Evelyn Grabber of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Norman Moran; and a sister, Beatrice Hebert. Funeral services will be held on Monday (August 10th) beginning with visitation from 9:30 – 11 am at Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester. Dad,
It's been two weeks since you passed and left me but people say you never get over a death but it gets easier and for me so far it hasn't. I miss you so very much, when i made mistakes you always stood by my side. I been taken care of your grave Dad and i have gotten flack because of it but it makes me feel better knowing i am doing something for you. I miss you sooo much especially when i am mowing your lawn and your not standing there watching me but i am still looking for you. Right now i am crying because i just can't believe you are no longer around. I'm back at the house for just a little while trying to take care of things, i hope you approve. I see your Truck everyday out in the driveway and it brings back sooo many memories for me when you and i were in it. I just hate for the fact to see the Truck go but it belongs to Mom now. I wish we could go for just one more ride together. Even your last night you were alive in the Hospital with Mom and i there the nurse came in and ask how you were feeling and you would smile and say, I'M FEELING GOOD,the Nurse said you always said that right up to the end. Things are changing, Mom is saleing the house and and both the car and the truck, soon i will have nothing but memories of you, good memories though. I hope you are in a place of happiness and you dont need to give yourself shots or all the medicines, you are free from them.I hope i will see you again one day and we will be in your truck riding.

Rest in peace Dad and the sadness and heartbreaking crying i know will never end for you Dad.
I Love you much,
Albert John Fargo Jr

"Right around the corner AL....."
I too was with NTD there never a more delightful man than AL. He was with us day after day through many years. He was part of our group and made our travels first of all safe and always fun. Condolences to his family.

When I was NTD Al was our bus driver and what a delight he was. Smiling and happy and he took everything in stride. He took care of us! We all adored him. I send my condolences to all of his family. His memory lights our hearts.

My condolences to the family. I was an actor with the National Theatre of the Deaf, and Al was our tour bus driver for several years. He was so much more than 'just' our driver though - he became a treasured part of our traveling family. I have so many good memories of this wonderful man / he was funny, fun, always smiling, warm and big-hearted, patient and often the calm in the midst of a storm. He put up with so many of our shenanigans - and even came up with a few of his own!! He was also a driver-extraordinaire - one time the whole company stayed at my parents' house, and Al skillfully maneuvered the bus into a curved small dead-end street as we all watched breathlessly! Rest in peace, Al - although I hope you will be my heavenly bus driver when it's my turn to join you!! xo

When I was with National Theatre of the Deaf 1980-1983, we never went anywhere without Al.

He was our driver, protector and always had a ready laugh and joke.

He was one of the NTD Family for years.

As one actor (Howie Seago) wrote in an email: "He's driving God's chariot now".

May his memory be a blessing.

Al was a great driver for the National Theatre of the Deaf touring company.
He was fun to be around us, actors and stage crew. He will be missed. Heaven needs a bus driver like Al. :-).

I will never forget the fun our families had together throughout our childhood. From summer sleepovers, to caroling on Christmas Eve, it was always memorable.
Uncle Al had such a big personality, I'm sorry he has passed away.
To Aunt Shirley, I am sorry you have lost your other half. To my cousins, I am sad you have lost your dad.
With love always.
