Henry Charron Obituary

Henry J Charron October 9, 1946 - March 12, 2008 BROOKLYN - Henry Joseph Charron, 61, of Proulx Street, died Wednesday at home. He was born in Killingly, October 9, 1946, son of the late Hormidas and Ellen (Hill) Charron. He was the husband of Nancy Chase Charron, they were married November 26, 1966, she survives him. Henry served in the army during the Vietnam War. He had been employed for over 25 years for the Town of Brooklyn Highway Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post #91 in Moosup, VFW Post #2650 in Danielson, the Sprague Rod and Gun Club and the Forrester's Club. Henry was an avid fisherman who loved RVing, and in his younger years drove stock cars at Thompson Motor Speedway, where he was the 1973 track champion. He also loved to play cards with friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Sandra L. Britton and her husband Butch of Brooklyn; two brothers, Alfred Charron and his wife Marjorie of FL and Ronald Charron and his wife Carol of Plainfield; a sister, Barbara Burditt of Norwich; two half brothers, Richard Silva and his wife Tammy and Robert Silva, all of Dayville; five grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren and Zachery Charron, and Ryan and Jarid Weaver and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Henry Charron who died January 28, 2008. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 A.M. in Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson. Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery, Danielson with Full Military Honors. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of Northeastern CT, P.O. Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260-0632

So much time has passed ,seems like yesterday we were riding the school bus,seems like yesterday we began our softball league, seems like yesterday we were all playing ball at Owen Bell, I'll miss Henry and all the ball games we played ,he was such a competitor such a funny guy always joking around yet he still managed to keep things in perspective on and off the ball field .My thoughts and prayers are with you all .
