Janine Eisold Obituary

Janine Vegiard Eisold January 24, 1947 - May 17, 2013 Rockville, MD - Janine Vegiard Eisold, 66, of Rockville, Maryland died of cancer on Friday, May 17, 2013 with family at her side at the Montgomery Hospice Home, Casey House. Born January 24, 1947 in Norwich, she attended Norwich Free Academy ( class of 1964) and later graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 1969 with a degree in Education. She immediately began teaching Kindergarten in Norwich. On June 5, 1971 she married John F. Eisold, of Towson, Maryland, who was serving as an officer in the United States Navy. The couple then moved to Hanover New Hampshire where John completed his medical studies at Dartmouth. During that time she taught at a one room schoolhouse in Lyme, New Hampshire. In June, 1976 she moved to Rockville Maryland when John was assigned to Bethesda Navel Hospital and has remained in the area since then. It is where her two children, Jonathan and Jessica were born. She was a teacher in the Montgomery County School System for over 30 years. In 1980 she received a Masters degree from the University of Maryland in Early Childhood Gifted Education. She was a skilled knitter who was renowned for producing handsome handmade sweaters on cue for neonates of family, friends and extended families. Janine was also a life-long lover of animals, adopting several orphaned cats and dogs. She is survived by her husband, Rear Admiral John F. Eisold, her son Jonathan(30) of Rockville Maryland, and daughter Jessica (27) of Honolulu, Hawaii and her brother Michael Vegiard of Putnam Connecticut.

It is with great sadness that Janine is no longer with us. She is an inspiration for her valiant fight battling cancer. I will miss my cousin. Nancy Burns

To the Eisold family. My deepest sympathies on Janines passing. I remember Janine from NFA. I also was the class of 1964. I lived not so far from her in Maryland.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Janine was a favorite babysitter & neighbor of ours from Norwich many years ago. She was always so kind to us. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.
