Patrick Quinn Obituary

PATRICK D. QUINN 1930 - 2018
EAST HADDAM - Patrick D. Quinn passed away at his home in East Haddam on March 15, 2018. He was born on September 15, 1930 in Cicero, IL, the son of the late Frank and Mary Margaret (Tansor) Quinn. Pat grew up in Norwich, attending Fields Memorial School in Fitchville and was a 1948 graduate of the Norwich Free Academy. He went on to study at Mitchell College and later graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in business. Mr. Quinn served in the United States Navy as a radio operator from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War. Pat was a master plumber by profession and a member of United Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 777, where he served as Business Manager. He had also served as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Connecticut Department of Labor in unemployment matters for eight years. Pat was an avid hunter throughout his life and was a founding member of the Bozrah Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of the Groton Elks, the Trapper's Association, Sprague Rod and Gun Club, the Moose Lodge. In recent years, Pat started, and with his late wife Ann, ran the Aces High R.V. Park in East Lyme of which he was very proud. Pat was extremely proud of the campground which won awards in 2000 and 2004 as the Small Park of the Year by the A.R.V.C. Pat was predeceased by his wife, Ann DiBattista Quinn and his brother, Terrence J. Quinn. He is survived by his nephews, Kevin and Michael Quinn of Marcos, CA and Timothy Quinn of Johnsonville, NY. Care of private arrangements has been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester. Donations may be made in Pat's name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (www.dana-farber.org) or the Diabetes Research Institute Association (www.diabetesresearch.org)
